Question answered by Timperley Late Night Pharmacy
Can a pharmacist treat my UTI without me seeing a GP?
Short answer: Yes — women aged 16 to 64 with symptoms of an uncomplicated urinary tract infection (UTI) can be assessed and, if clinically appropriate, treated free under NHS Pharmacy First at Timperley Late Night Pharmacy. No GP appointment is required. Other patients are signposted to the right NHS service.
Quick answer
For women aged 16–64 with uncomplicated UTI symptoms (burning when passing urine, going more often, urgency, lower tummy pain) a pharmacist can run a clinical assessment and, where appropriate, supply NHS antibiotics under NHS Pharmacy First.
Who it’s not suitable for
- Men with UTI symptoms (always see a GP)
- Pregnant women
- Women under 16 or over 65

What to expect

- The pharmacist asks about your symptoms in a private consultation room
